Glenner Town Square located in Chula Vista, California, is the first immersive reminiscence therapy day center in the United States that’s been fully designed to replicate the look of a 1950s/1960s era town. Reminiscence therapy offers folks with dementia a link to the past using familiar objects and setting, while also providing adult day care. Town Square provides a physically active and stimulating day by fostering familiar, positive experiences for participants, as well as daily respite for the at home caretakers (often family and spouses). I spent a day photographing Town Square for a feature story published in US News & World Report.
